Free gift at Del Mar!

Free gift at Del Mar!

Hi, peeps!

This time, the freebie is from me! I wanted to give something as a gift to all my readers that meant something to me, and so I re-made the little castle skybox that I created as my first home in SL. If you’ve been following this blog for a long time, you’ll probably remember seeing pics of me sitting in the garden while I showed you how to create lots of boxes to help with archiving your inventory.

The skybox is 20m x 20m, and the prim count is as follows:

Skybox = 24 prims
Fireplace for upstairs = 6 prims
Fireplace for downstairs (slightly taller chimney!) = 6 prims
Fire grate with touch on/off particle flames = 3 prims

Hop behind the cut for another pic, and where to find it :)

Damien Fate’s “Friendship Bear”

Damien Fate’s “Friendship Bear”

How’s this for a wonderful thing? I’m just going to paste the contents of the notecard that came with this:

“Friendship Bear” 2012 Edition

In celebration of his 9th year as a Second Life resident, Damien Fate has recreated the first object he ever created in SL, the original prim “Friendship Bear”.

Please pass this bear freely to all your friends and give it a loving home!

Bear design inspired by the works of Lou Rankin.

www.damienfate.com

Here’s Damien’s post on his blog about it :)

This is an absolutely adorable, 1-prim mesh bear with a holding animation (you can rez it out in-world, too), and it’s been given freely to the residents of Second Life, to share among their friends. It’s copy/transfer, so you can give as many as you like to those that you love. Thank you, Damien! <3

I’ve put him out on the freebie wall in the Del Mar Store, so hop over and pick up a big, fluffy hug for you and all of your friends! :)

Update: He’s also available on Marketplace!

The colour purple

The colour purple

You know it’s Mar’s favourite colour, right? ;)

Well, before today she had never tried her nifty Marketplace searching tip for ‘purple’. And when she did, she ended up with an amazing full avatar look, for a total cost of just L$23.

All items from Marketplace
– Resyva: Free Skin [ link ] L$1
– Sakide: Exposed Top [ link ] free
– Sakide: Pearly Skirt Belt Purple [ link ] free
– Street Kandy: Tempt Boot [ link ] L$10
– A&A: Gloria Hair Moonlight [ link ] L$1
– Taffy: Happy Halloween Eyes [ link ] L$1
– Mad Echo: Sculpted Fabulous Nails [ link ] L$10

Take note: where the skirt is called a ‘belt skirt’ – it really is! Definitely saucy and butt-revealing ;)

Also, the nails are not scripted, so they won’t ‘stick’ to your fingers. A handy freebie to have in this case is the AnyPose Expression HUD from Phate Shepherd Creations, which not only allows you to direct your avatar’s eyes wherever you want them to look, but also lets you pose their hands. Used the ‘both hands relaxed’ option with unscripted prim nails, to prevent that horrible splayed hands effect, which leaves your nails floating in space!

Seldom a Fulo

Seldom a Fulo

Seldom a fool? *nudge* Geddit? *sigh* Yep, I think that’s my worst title pun to date ;)

Ladies! Hie thee to Seldom Blue and hunt for a pumpkin, to find this lovely free dress. Here’s a wee clue for you: It’s easy to find, but you must look behind/For this dress full of class, take yourself to the glass.

Hrm. I should’ve been a poet!

Also in this look are a fabby pair of earrings, which are a gift from Fulo! at the Flawless sim. Right now, there’s a cart sale at Flawless. Each designer has a small cart full of items on it, at least one of which is priced at just L$50. So hop over there and see if anything takes your fancy!

Put your hands in your pockets!

Put your hands in your pockets!

I seem to be all about free and cheap hair lately!

Firstly, with regard to the Exile Hair group gifts that I blogged yesterday: please read the edit on my previous post [ link ], as it seems that people are picking up the wrong item from the subscribe-o-matic and assuming the gift has been removed. It hasn’t been removed – it was re-packed and sent out again later because something was wrong with the original notice!

OK, onto today’s deal!

I sent Roxie out for a quick jaunt (mainly to make sure she grabbed that huge Exile Hair giveaway) and ended up at Pocket Mirrors, where she found some fab dollarbie and giftie hair.

Pocket Mirrors has an unusual style, and you should visit the store especially if you’re a lover of vintage hairstyles.

The dollarbie is a brilliantly-mad curled and knotted up-do called Myrtle, which comes in three colours: brick, light blonde, and majestic:

Hop behind the cut for the others. Guys, there’s male hair group gifts available, too!

Awesome Exile: three huge free fatpacks of hair!

Awesome Exile: three huge free fatpacks of hair!

UPDATE – PLEASE READ! The original notice sent out was borked. Many places have been telling you that you need to grab notice #2, but that one had something wrong with it. You need to grab notice #1 – screenshot before the cut – which begins: Oct 21, 12: 3 TRDB styles Have been released in all colors into my subscribo! THAT is the message with the gifts in it!

Okay, I’ll admit it. I actually clapped my hands, squealed, and would have hopped up and down if I wasn’t sitting in a chair. This is such an awesome gift!

Ladies, head to the Exile store and click to join the subscribe-o-matic there. Once you’ve joined, click again and look in the history for this fabulous gift. It comprises three styles from past Dressing Room collections, released in all colours. Your inventory’s hair folder will be heaving after this, because ‘all colours’ means 62 shades! (If you’re already in the subscribe-o, check that you received these!)

These are fabulous sculpted styles of hair: one cute up-do with a colour-change bow, one sexy, messy side-braid, and one elegant up-do. I’ve shown neutral shades here, but in those 62 colours you’re bound to find that special shade you love!

Here’s the first: Betty Lou, shown here in the Hollywood shade. Mar has (of course!) coloured her bow purple ;)

This is the notice you need to grab. Make sure you get the right one! It starts with 3 TDRB Styles released:

Hop behind the cut for pics of the other two styles :)

A Dura-ble gift!

A Dura-ble gift!

*groans* I swear, my puns are getting worse…

Ladies! Gents! Join the Dura group (paste this link into chat and click it to bring up the group join window; it’s free!) and hie thee – with the group tag active, to the Dura store. Inside, at the far end, you’ll find two gift hair fatpacks: one cute 12-colour curly up-do for the ladies and a long, 14-colour bowler-hatted style for the gents.

Hop behind the cut for a pic of the gents’ style :)

De-noob for Nowt: Golden Autumn

De-noob for Nowt: Golden Autumn

It’s been a while since I wrote a De-noob for Nowt post, and I’ve noticed that I seem to be moving away from ‘nowtiness’ and into ‘moneyness’ on the blog. Since this blog is called SL for Nowt, it seems rather silly of me to post almost exclusively about offers that you need some money for, be they the ‘up to L$75’ items, or the ‘L$50 pay-to-join group’ items. I need to start re-injecting the blog with nowtiness again!

To that end, I’m reviving this series of posts. The De-noob for Nowt posts contain entire avatar looks for free. Not a single Linden buck required to be spent. To that end, I have created a new alt (say hi to Ruth!) and she has absolutely NO money (poor lass!) I won’t be transferring even so much as L$1 to her, in order to buy a dollarbie. She’s skint and she’ll stay that way, so that I can bring you some entirely-freebie looks :)

Here’s the first, which I call Golden Autumn.

Everything in this look is absolutely free (and almost all from Marketplace), so hop behind the cut for more pics and info :)
